Description
A police officer has the authority to intervene on his own to prevent:
Injury to Public Property
- If a person attempts to damage, destroy, or deface any public property, whether movable or immovable, the police officer can act immediately to stop the act.
Tampering with Landmarks & Navigation Aids
- The officer can also prevent the removal or damage of:
- Public landmarks (e.g., boundary stones, survey marks).
- Buoys and navigation marks (which guide ships and boats).
This provision allows police officers to take proactive action to protect public assets and safety without waiting for further orders.
