Description
Submission Through a Superior Officer
- Every report sent to a Magistrate under Section 157 shall, if directed by the State Government, be submitted through a superior police officer appointed by the State Government by general or special order.
Role of the Superior Officer
- The superior officer may issue instructions to the officer in charge of the police station as deemed necessary.
- After recording such instructions on the report, the superior officer shall transmit it without delay to the Magistrate.
