"If, during an investigation under this Chapter, the officer in charge of the police station determines that there is insufficient evidence or reasonable ground of suspicion to justify forwarding the accused to a Magistrate, the officer shall release the person from custody. The release shall be conditional upon the accused executing a bond, with or without sureties as directed, to appear before a Magistrate empowered to take cognizance of the offence and to try or commit the accused for trial, if and when required."
