No complainant or witness traveling to any Court shall be required to accompany a police officer, nor shall they be subjected to unnecessary restraint, inconvenience, or be required to provide security for their appearance beyond their own bond.
However, if a complainant or witness refuses to attend or execute a bond as directed under Section 170, the officer in charge of the police station may forward them in custody to the Magistrate. The Magistrate may then detain them in custody until they execute the required bond or until the completion of the case hearing.
