CrPC Section-192 - Making over of cases to Magistrates
Description
Power of Chief Judicial Magistrate:
- After taking cognizance of an offence, the Chief Judicial Magistrate may assign the case for inquiry or trial to any competent Magistrate subordinate to him.
Power of First-Class Magistrates:
- A Magistrate of the First Class, if empowered by the Chief Judicial Magistrate, may also transfer the case.
- The transfer shall be made to a competent Magistrate specified by the Chief Judicial Magistrate through a general or special order.
Effect of Transfer:
- The Magistrate to whom the case is transferred shall then conduct the inquiry or trial as per the law.
