Description
"In cases instituted on a police report or otherwise, when the accused appears or is brought before the Magistrate, and it is determined that the offence is exclusively triable by the Court of Session, the Magistrate shall:
- Commit the case to the Court of Session after complying with the provisions of Section 207 or Section 208, as applicable, and remand the accused to custody until the commitment is made, subject to bail provisions.
- Remand the accused to custody during the trial and until its conclusion, subject to bail provisions.
- Send the record of the case, along with relevant documents and articles to be used as evidence, to the Court of Session.
- Notify the Public Prosecutor about the commitment of the case to the Court of Session.
