Description

"A separate charge shall be framed for every distinct offence of which a person is accused, and each charge shall be tried separately.

1. However, if the accused submits a written application requesting a joint trial, and the Magistrate is satisfied that it will not cause prejudice, multiple charges against the accused may be tried together.
2. This provision does not affect the application of Sections 219, 220, 221, and 223 of this Code.
