Description
"If a person is accused of multiple offences of the same kind committed within a span of twelve months, whether against the same person or different persons, they may be charged and tried for up to three such offences in a single trial.
- Offences are considered of the same kind if they carry the same punishment under the same section of the Indian Penal Code (45 of 1860) or any special or local law.
- For the purposes of this section:
- An offence under Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code shall be treated as the same kind as an offence under Section 380.
- Any offence under the Indian Penal Code, or a special or local law, shall be deemed of the same kind as an attempt to commit that offence, provided the attempt itself is punishable as an offence.
