"If the accused refuses to plead, remains silent, or claims trial, and is not convicted under Section 229, the Judge shall set a date for the examination of witnesses. Additionally, upon the prosecution's request, the Judge may issue necessary processes to compel the attendance of witnesses or the production of relevant documents or evidence."
