CrPC Section-249 - Absence of complainant

Description

If the proceedings have been initiated upon a complaint and, on any scheduled hearing date, the complainant is absent, the Magistrate may, at his discretion, discharge the accused at any time before framing the charge, provided that the offence is non-cognizable or may be lawfully compounded, notwithstanding any prior provisions.
