CrPC Section-261 - Summary trial by Magistrate of the second class

Description

The High Court may confer upon any Magistrate, who is already invested with the powers of a Magistrate of the Second Class, the authority to try summarily the following offences:

  1. Any offence punishable only with a fine.
  2. Any offence punishable with imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months, with or without a fine.
  3. Any abetment of or attempt to commit any such offence.
