Description

The provisions of Section 428 of the Code shall apply to cases under this Chapter, meaning:

• Any period of detention undergone by the accused during the investigation, inquiry, or trial shall be set off against the sentence of imprisonment imposed upon conviction.
• This set-off applies in the same manner as it does for imprisonment under other provisions of the Code.

This ensures that an accused person does not serve additional time beyond what is legally required.
