CrPC Section-265K - Statements of accused not to be used

Description

  • Any statements or facts mentioned by an accused in an application for plea bargaining under Section 265B cannot be used for any purpose other than those specified in this Chapter.
  • This protection overrides any conflicting provisions in other laws.
  • The purpose is to encourage accused persons to opt for plea bargaining without fear that their statements could later be used against them in other proceedings.
