Description

1. When a person who is already undergoing a sentence of imprisonment is sentenced to imprisonment or imprisonment for life on a subsequent conviction, such imprisonment or imprisonment for life shall commence at the expiration of the previous sentence, unless the Court directs that the subsequent sentence shall run concurrently with the previous sentence.
2. Provided that: If a person has been sentenced to imprisonment under an order made under section 122 for default in furnishing security, and while undergoing such sentence is sentenced to imprisonment for an offence committed prior to the order, the latter sentence shall commence immediately.
3. When a person already undergoing a sentence of imprisonment for life is subsequently sentenced to either imprisonment for a term or imprisonment for life, the subsequent sentence shall run concurrently with the previous sentence.
