The amount of every bond executed under this chapter shall be determined with careful consideration of the circumstances of the case, ensuring that it is not set at an excessive amount.
The High Court or Court of Session may, if deemed appropriate, direct that the bail amount required by a police officer or Magistrate be reduced to a more reasonable sum.
