Bribery Includes Two Actions:

  2. Accepting Bribes (Passive Bribery)

  • Giving free transportation, food, or public services is NOT bribery if done legally and for the public good.

Punishment Under Section 171E IPC (For Bribery Under Section 171B IPC)

A person guilty of bribery faces:

  • Imprisonment for up to 1 year, OR
  • Fine, OR
  • Both imprisonment and fine
